MCC People Pantry: Volunteers Needed

Allen & Samantha Goodner coordinate the MCC People Pantry.

• It consists of  a dedicated space (an office for now) with non-perishable food to serve those in need.
•  With the assistance of Legacy HS Leadership Class, under the supervision of Dena Schimming these teens purchase food each week, stock the shelves and make up standard pantry boxes for distribution.
• Funds for purchasing groceries are given by members in mission envelopes each Sunday. In addition, various food drives and community donations provide resources.
• Just since Thanksgiving 261 people have received food from the pantry.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The office staff assists in greeting and serving people who come for assistance on a walk-in basis. The need, however is for the pantry  to have set days and hours. This depends on availability of volunteers to assist people in the spirit of Christ.
