FAQ about HOME Groups

Purpose:

HOME Groups live for the sake of OTHERS in the the practices of:

• Christian HOSPITALITY
• Intentional OUTREACH
• Mutual MINISTRY
• Spiritual ENCOURAGEMENT

FAQ

1. Who are the leaders?  Couples given to hospitality and have been through HG Orientation
2. How often will we meet? Generally, groups meet the 1st and 3rd weekends of the  month from late August through May. Dates and times will be up to the group as long as it is consistent.
3. What will be covered at each meeting? Sharing of faith stories and the simple exercise of Dwelling in the Word is the focus through 2012.
4. How many in a group? Approximately 22 people including children.  There are, a few groups who are over 30. The intention is to keep the groups to a size that mosts homes can accommodate. When a group becomes too large over several meetings, multiplying the group is highly encouraged.  Guests are always welcome.
5. Where will meetings be held? The homes of members.  Sometimes, a group may meet at the building, but nothing replaces the home environment.
6. What about meals? Simplicity is the rule.  It is up to each group and/or meeting host. Some groups “brown bag” while others only have dessert. The goal is to not be a burden to the host.
7. Do groups rotate?  Generally not, however, a window for transition, changing groups, etc. will occur in  August with HOME Group Renewal emphasis.
8. How do you get into a group?  Members and/or guests are encouraged to EMAIL a LEADER to inquire about their group or contact the CHURCH OFFICE (817.473.4234)
